Salisbury's Juke Harris twists for a tough finish. Harris scored a game-high 33 points in the Hornets' win at North Rowan.

Salisbury High School shooting guard Juke Harris will continue playing college basketball in North Carolina.

Harris announced on Friday afternoon that he has committed to Wake Forest University.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound junior is a four-star prospect and ranked the No. 9 shooting guard in the nation from the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.com. The website also ranks him as the No. 6 player in North Carolina from the junior class.

Harris visited Wake Forest in January, shortly before he named his top six schools: Kansas, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

The Demon Deacons now have two commitments from the Class of 2024 — both from North Carolina. Harris joins Christ School's Bryson Cokley, a 6-foot-6 guard who committed in October.

After leading Salisbury to a 22-6 overall record this season and an appearance in the fourth round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A state playoffs, Harris was named the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association District Player of the Year and the Central Carolina Conference Player of the Year.

Harris was also named the NCBCA All-State Team as a second team selection.
